The Bushveld is our first commercially available plate series to the US market and derives from experiences in developing backstop materials for our Taiwanese partners within their defense industry.
Using our proprietary polyethylene composite with boron carbide, we're able to bring to Americans a 10x12" shooter plate that weighs 2 kg ± 0.05 (4.4 lbs) while also tested by Element US Space and Defense (formerly NTS Technical Systems) to withstand 3 shots of APM2 30.06 (NIJ Level IV/RF3) or 2 shots of M80A1.
A fresh Bushveld plate is rated to stop:
- 3 hits of black-tipped APM2 30-06
- 2 hits of M80A1
